After her last boyfriend Preston was sent off to a prison farm for
impersonating a hula-hoop, her social life spiralled out of control. As a
means to get her social life back on track, her father set her up with Buzz, who used to work in the Melon family store during the summer. ("I gave the kid the job because he had nice posture", Mr Melon once claimed).

At first she longed for the wilder, untamed nature of Preston. But like a
wort, Buzz grew on her & they soon became "jacketed" - going steady.
